Christine Petit dirige l’équipe « Mécanismes fondamentaux de l’audition et médecine de précision » dont les objectifs sont :
- Progresser dans le déchiffrage des complexes et réseaux moléculaires impliqués dans les grandes fonctions des cellules sensorielles auditives.
- Développer une médecine de précision dans deux domaines, celui du diagnostic des atteintes auditives et celui du développement de leur thérapie curative.

Comment le cerveau s’adapte-il lorsqu’il reçoit un son désynchronisé ?
La perception d'un son se fait à travers nos deux oreilles. Un son émanant du côté droit arrivera plus vite et plus fort dans l’oreille droite que dans l'oreille gauche. Le Dr Victor Benichoux étudiera, dans le cadre de son projet postdoctoral supervisé par le Pr Christine Petit, comment le cerveau s’adapte lorsque nos 2 oreilles reçoivent un même son de façon désynchronisée, une situation souvent observée dans des troubles de l’audition.
