Ear surgery requires an especially precise theoretical knowledge of 3D anatomy, and particularly high levels of technical skill in order to carry out extremely precise, fine and complex movements while constantly adapting to the situation.

Professor Parietti-Winkler has designed and deployed an innovative system for training future ENT surgeons in ear surgery. The teaching this system offers  involves training on a simulator or model of the temporal bone made of resin, designed by Professor Parietti. Before it can be used as a teaching tool in a healthcare training curriculum, such a simulator must be evaluated and validated. The research project aims to objectively validate the temporal bone model. This work is being carried out in collaboration with the LEM3 team (Laboratory for the Study of Microstructures and Materials Mechanics, UMR CNRS 7239).
