Tympanic membrane perforation is a frequent cause of permanent hearing loss in children and 1 in 1,500 children aged 5-12 every year undergo tympanoplasty.
The goal of this surgery is to repair the tympanic membrane. Following surgery, some children have a poor functional or anatomical result (residual eardrum perforation or progressive retraction over time).
The objective of Professor Denoyelle's study is to analyze the factors influencing the results of tympanoplasty in children to adapt the surgical technique, the age at surgery or the type of monitoring.
