Body

By stimulating new approaches and supporting excellent pioneering research, FPA wishes to promote innovations that will improve our hearing health in the future and contribute to France’s influence in Hearing Sciences.

TOPICS

Only interventional studies are eligible. The focus of the call is on innovative therapies for hearing disorders, therefore studies on conventional applications of devices that are already on the market are ineligible.

Animal research is out of scope as well as vestibular research.

FUNDING

The overall budget of the 2026 call for proposals is set to 600,000 euros for 3 years. Each project will be funded 65,000 euros for years 1 and 2 and 70,000 euros for year 3. The funding is provided annually; continuation of support for an additional two years is based on a report to be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.

ELIGIBILITY

FPA grants are awarded to French teams in academic or clinical public research institutions.

Pharma, biotechs, startups or industry are ineligible to this call. Clinical trials sponsored by the latters are also ineligible.

Projects involving a member of the FPA Scientific Committee or Board of Directors and his/her laboratory are not eligible for an FPA research grant.

SELECTION PROCESS

The call is organized in four stages:

  1. Submission of a letter of intent reviewed by the Scientific Committee.
  2. Submission of a full proposal for selected letters of intent.
  3. Full proposal review and selection by the FPA Scientific Committee.
  4. Approval of the Board of Directors.
